While Winnellie Supermarket prides itself on the massive range of beefjerky it stocks, this week I would like to tell you about some of our other products specifically Camel jerky. I know what you are thinking, some people would ask themselves who in their right mind would like camel jerky.
This of course is a great question and might I say thank you for asking, camel jerky is actually, many would say a healthier alternative to beefjerky as camels have lover fat and higher protein and have a more wiry muscle type. Our camel jerky is of a drier type it is 100% natural and wood smoked. It is made in the northern territory, with you guessed it with NT camels.

This camel jerky would be described as a dryer version with a tough type texture but not too tough, it provides a mouth watering sensation when you chew slowly. Despite the dryness the jerky it provides a slight gamey taste but nothing like emu. Its not as strong a taste as you would expect from wild camel and it is does have you coming back for more. Now we have tested it by chewing and sucking. We found that by sucking on the camel gave you a benefit of softening the meat before chewing, making the taste sensation last longer. Which in our opinion is what sells this jerky? You can get it in store or visit our online partner or simply contact us .
